Workforce Development

We support a variety of other projects which develop and empower our existing, emerging and future workforce, namely Young Change Agents.

Young people are our future and nurturing their curiosities, insights and unique perspectives is paramount to the economic and social development of our regions. To support them develop their potential, we partner with Young Change Agents (YCA) to deliver workshops dedicated to developing entrepreneurial and strategic thinking skills.

Young Change Agents is a nationwide social enterprise helping youth from all backgrounds see problems as opportunities through social entrepreneurship. Their facilitators are experienced working with both young people and educators to drive positive, long-term outcomes through future-focussed development.

On 12 October 2022, we hosted Young Change Agents in Goulburn who provided a one-day program to local students from years 9 and 10. We were pleased to welcome cohorts from Goulburn, Mulwaree and Crookwell High schools, Trinity College and home schoolers to participate in the day.

Students worked in teams to identify problems young people experience when it comes to finding and choosing the right careers, followed by ideation, validation, prototyping and pitching. By the end of the day, a total of nine social enterprise ideas were pitched.

This opportunity allowed students to understand how to apply entrepreneurial skills in an intrapreneurial context and to better understand the value of their skillset.

This exciting and innovative opportunity was generously supported by Rotary, The Goulburn Workers Club and we intend for this to be an annual event, extended through more of our LGAs in the coming years.
